Lantana quality of life -am I missing something?

First post here. The unemployment rate is 5.6%, which is about average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Is this normal for Lantana? TIA!

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Portland it's better than expected.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely average and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Springfield) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Old Town. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
