Hello, I'm a remote worker and The median home value here is around $188,900, which is actually reasonable. Poverty rate is 8.7%, which is pretty low. With a population of 28,480, Laplace is a smaller city. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Anyone in a similar situation? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
