Random thought, Homes are going for about $302,200 on average. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I wrong here? Any help is appreciated. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great Mexican places. it's exactly what I was looking for.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The cultural scene is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely underrated and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Eastside) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for work and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The housing market is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in South for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The safety scene is solid
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The housing market is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
