Thinking about relocating to Laramie from Tucson

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a college student here and Crime rate is something to consider -Laramie sits at 177.5 per 100K. The median home value here is around $302,200, which seems about average. With a population of 31,848, Laramie is a smaller city. Average temperature is around 41--F, so bundle up in winter. Household incomes average around $52,414 in Laramie. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in government. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Hope this helps!.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Tampa it's excellent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 5 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been here 12 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
