Alright, I'm a 52-year-old HR manager and It's a a mid-size city city with about 256K people. Poverty rate is 18.4%, which is higher than I expected. Rent is about $1,001/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I'm a social worker and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is improving and there's always something going on.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Dallas about 7 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Nightlife is limited
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are reasonable, gas is average.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Good luck with whatever you decide..
