Relocating to Laredo, TX — pros and cons?

Been meaning to ask this. Poverty rate is 18.4%, which is higher than I expected. You can expect to pay around $1,001 for rent here. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
