Working remotely from Laredo — my experience

I've been working remotely from Laredo for 10 years now. Here's my take:

The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.

Cost of living: pretty reasonable
Internet: Fiber available in most areas — no complaints
Coworking spaces: Limited but the library works in a pinch

If you're looking for a place to WFH, Laredo is underrated for remote workers.

If you can afford it, Eastside is the best place to live. Period.

Moved here last year. No regrets. The local food is incredible.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Cedar Hills. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Respectfully disagree about the job market. In my experience, there are good opportunities if you network.

Been here 20 years. The city has changed a lot but overall for the better.

Coming from Houston, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are about the same.

I work in education and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 2 months.

I'd add that healthcare options are better than most cities this size. Otherwise spot on!

Rent tip: look for places in fall. Prices drop and there's more availability.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 9/10.
