Couple moving to Largo from out of state

So, Born and raised here. Crime rate is something to consider -Largo sits at 383.7 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 2.6%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 74--F, so it's warm year-round. Median household income is $60,465, which feels about average for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Eastside area are tough. Kids love it here.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 30, moved here 6 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in Lakewood and West, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Close to major attractions
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Chain restaurants dominate
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The public transit situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Lakewood: Great for singles. challenging vibes, walkable.
- West: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Francisco, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $90K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
