Moving to Las Cruces -what should I know?

We're a young couple and Poverty rate is 17.1%, which is higher than I expected. The median home value here is around $217,400, which is actually reasonable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
