Affordable areas near Las Vegas?

Hey folks, Military spouse here. Crime rate is something to consider -Las Vegas sits at 963.0 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Has anyone dealt with this? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in South area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The pet-friendliness is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..
