Best neighborhoods in Las Vegas for families?

We have two kids (2 and 8) and are looking for a family-friendly neighborhood in Las Vegas. Budget is around $1456/month for rent. We prioritize good schools and safety. Any recommendations?

Also, are there good parks and activities for kids in the area?

Coming from Chicago, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are about the same.
