Why I chose Las Vegas over bigger cities

Alright, We have two kids and Household incomes average around $70,723 in Las Vegas. The unemployment rate is 4.5%, which is about average. Homes are going for about $395,300 on average. With a population of 651K, Las Vegas is a major city. It's a a major city city with about 651K people. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Low crime in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Sprawl everywhere
- Far from major airports
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Not enough green space
What neighborhoods would you suggest? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Oak Park for 13 years. Moved from Tampa for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Oak Park schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Can feel isolated. Dating scene is rough. And weather can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 6/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.
