Moving to LaSalle with kids -good idea?

Hi all, I work in energy and The median home value here is around $109,500, which is actually reasonable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for school and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The walkability is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
