I'm a remote worker and It's a a smaller city city with about 32,696 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. Worth the trade-offs?

I've lived in The Heights for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
- The traffic scene is tough
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a nurse, 54, moved here 9 years ago from Charlotte. I've lived in Greenfield and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The dating scene situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for singles. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Charlotte, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $50K-$130K here.
**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is tough in most areas.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The pet-friendliness is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

The food scene here is average. Tons of great Indian places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Oak Park area are excellent. Kids love it here.
