Thinking about relocating to Lauderhill from Los Angeles
I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Lauderhill sits at 784.9 per 100K. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. What are your go-to spots? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much wild but now it's improving.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Phoenix about 12 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is tough.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Happy to answer more specific questions..
