Laughlin in the winter -how bad?

Longtime lurker here, I'm a remote worker and Household incomes average around $45,248 in Laughlin. You can expect to pay around $991 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Laughlin sits at 105.0 per 100K. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Am I wrong here? The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Old Town. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
