What surprised you most about Laurel Bay?
Hello, We have two kids and Rent is about $1,375/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Laurel Bay sits at 741.0 per 100K. Average temperature is around 67--F, so the weather is moderate. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
Pros:
- Low taxes
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community
- Active local events
Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited dining options
- Not enough green space
Does this match your experience? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.
