Poverty rate is 3.6%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,497 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $272,300, which seems about average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. Anyone in a similar situation? Cheers. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Oak Park for 12 years. Moved from Dallas for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Oak Park schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Limited entertainment options. And dating scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 8/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The cultural scene is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Active local events and festivals
- The dating scene scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Hope this helps!.

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Maple Ridge area are solid. Kids love it here.

I'm a sales manager and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.
