Affordable areas near Laurinburg?

Hi all, It's a a small town city with about 15,079 people. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Does this match your experience? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

I've lived in Uptown for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- The safety scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely excellent and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (South) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.
