Affordable areas near Lawndale?

OK so Been living here since 2013. With a population of 31,113, Lawndale is a smaller city. Household incomes average around $83,538 in Lawndale. Rent is about $1,847/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Pros:
- Close to nature
- Lots of new development
- Strong sense of community
- Active local events

Cons:
- High property taxes
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Not enough green space
Any advice would be great. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The school system is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..
