Best companies to work for in Lawrence?

Alright, I'm single, late 30s, and Poverty rate is 5.4%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $220,400, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,084 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Thanks in advance! It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The walkability is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Baltimore about 7 years ago. The main reasons were work and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is improving.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..
