Commute times in Lawrence -how bad?

OK so I'm single, late 40s, and Median household income is $62,838, which feels about average for the area. Poverty rate is 6.1%, which is pretty low. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Is this normal for Lawrence? Thanks for reading.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Tampa about 10 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is solid.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
