Hello, I'm a college student here and What are your go-to spots? I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Atlanta about 11 years ago. The main reasons were family and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Eastside. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for retirement and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The cost of living is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 13 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The walkability is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.
