Biggest downsides of living in Lawrence?

Hey, We're a young couple and The median home value here is around $393,500, which seems about average. Homes are going for about $393,500 on average. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 4 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Phoenix it's underrated.
