Anyone else feel this way? I'm a nurse at the local hospital and It's a a smaller city city with about 88,297 people. With a population of 88,297, Lawrence is a smaller city. Homes are going for about $393,500 on average. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good.
