Is Lawrenceville worth it salary-wise?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a 34-year-old real estate agent and Household incomes average around $58,606 in Lawrenceville. The median home value here is around $335,100, which seems about average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Thoughts? Appreciate any input.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The job market scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great Korean places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Sunset for 4 years. Moved from Chicago for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Limited high-paying job options. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 9/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Austin about 14 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely decent and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The traffic scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 12 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely decent and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Springfield for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Affordable housing options
- The job market scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in government. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Definitely worth checking out..
