The good and bad of living in Lawrenceville

Random thought, Military spouse here. Homes are going for about $335,100 on average. Rent is about $1,457/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Worth the trade-offs?

The food scene here is average. Tons of great Korean places. I genuinely enjoy living here.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Downtown area are decent. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 5 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Close to major attractions
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. No regrets on my end..

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.
