Worst things about Lawrenceville nobody talks about

Hey everyone, Homes are going for about $335,100 on average. With a population of 30,626, Lawrenceville is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $335,100, which seems about average. You can expect to pay around $1,457 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Would love some local perspective. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Used to live on the Meadowbrook side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 32, moved here 4 years ago from LA. I've lived in Greenfield and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The community vibe situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for families. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from LA, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $90K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
