The good and bad of living in Lawton

Longtime lurker here, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Median household income is $53,588, which feels on the lower side for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 90,662 people. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. What do you all think? Appreciate any input. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- The public transit scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Highland for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Diverse dining options
- The walkability scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Westside. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Hope this helps!.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much established but now it's average.

I've lived in Riverside for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The outdoor recreation scene is improving

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..
