Cheapest neighborhoods in Layton?

Alright, Military spouse here. With a population of 82,512, Layton is a smaller city. The median home value here is around $437,400, which is pretty steep. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. What would you do? Appreciate any input. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much established but now it's underrated.

I've lived in Downtown for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- The school system scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..
