Freelancing from Layton -experience?

Random thought, Just moved here 15 months ago and Poverty rate is 5.9%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Would love some local perspective. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Moved here from Seattle about 3 years ago. I have mixed feelings honestly. Still getting used to public transit but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Seattle it's tough.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 15 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
