Is Layton worth it salary-wise?

Hello, I'm single, late 40s, and The median home value here is around $437,400, which is pretty steep. Poverty rate is 5.9%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Mexican places. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 7 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
