Working remotely from Layton — my experience

I've been working remotely from Layton for 9 years now. Here's my take:

The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.

Cost of living: pretty reasonable
Internet: Could be better but workable with a good provider
Coworking spaces: Growing number of options

If you're looking for a place to WFH, Layton is a solid choice.

As someone who moved here from LA, I can confirm most of this. The job opportunities surprised me the most.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Highland Park. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is the west side tends to be more affordable. Makes a big difference.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Westside and Lakewood are perfectly safe.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

If you can afford it, Highland Park is the best place to live. Period.

Coming from Dallas, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are slightly more expensive but housing makes up for it.

I work in government and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 1 months.

Don't sleep on Southside. It's up and coming and still affordable.

The food scene here is seriously underrated. So many great restaurants.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.
