Anyone else love living in League City?

So, I'm single, late 30s, and Household incomes average around $119,870 in League City. The median home value here is around $334,000, which seems about average. It's a a mid-size city city with about 115K people. You can expect to pay around $1,628 for rent here. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Anyone in a similar situation? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a chef, 46, moved here 13 years ago from Seattle. I've lived in Meadowbrook and East, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited entertainment options
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The healthcare situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for young professionals. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- East: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Seattle, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $40K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..
