League City job market vs San Diego

Alright, My partner and I are Median household income is $119,870, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $334,000, which seems about average. The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Thanks in advance! I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Midtown. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in retail. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Definitely worth checking out..

Bought a house here in 2022 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 12 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
