Longtime lurker here, I grew up here but left for a while. It's a a mid-size city city with about 115K people. The unemployment rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What are your go-to spots? The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Indian places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from New York about 1 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is average.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Austin it's surprisingly good.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Dallas about 12 years ago. The main reasons were work and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is excellent.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Greenfield area are improving. Kids love it here.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Used to live on the Eastside side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.
