Raising a family in Leander -thoughts?

Alright, I work in manufacturing and Median household income is $140,180, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $470,700, which is pretty steep. The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,865/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cheers. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 6 years here, that's my honest assessment.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Pine Hills area are excellent. Kids love it here.

I've lived in Fairview for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The cost of living scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
