OK so Median household income is $140,180, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,865 for rent here. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I overthinking this? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value job market, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely pretty good and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Eastside) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The food scene is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in East area are underrated. Kids love it here.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much wild but now it's solid.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- The traffic scene is tough
The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely challenging and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Fairview) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
