Been meaning to ask this. I'm a remote worker and The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Am I overthinking this?

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Thai places. it's exactly what I was looking for.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- The outdoor recreation scene is improving
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The cost of living is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 2 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
