Is Leawood walkable?

So, Rent is about $1,753/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $620,400 on average. Median household income is $184,976, which feels pretty solid for the area. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Does this match your experience? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in North area are improving. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.
