Random thought, We're a young couple and It's a a small town city with about 17,575 people. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $900/month for a decent place. With a population of 17,575, Lebanon is a small town. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I've lived in Riverside for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- The nightlife scene is solid
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The nightlife is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is solid in most areas.
