Hello, We have two kids and People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Should I be concerned?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in The Heights. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

Used to live on the Eastside side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- The food scene scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I work in education here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is challenging. Good luck with whatever you decide..
