Cost of living reality check -Lebanon

OK so Military spouse here. Household incomes average around $78,598 in Lebanon. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Am I wrong here? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I'm a marketing manager and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is improving and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Raleigh about 15 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is pretty good.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Definitely worth checking out..
