Is it worth buying in Lebanon?

Curious what people think. Been living here since 2005. You can expect to pay around $1,274 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 18,978 people. The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Good job market
- Growing food scene
- Low taxes

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Sprawl everywhere
- Boring for young people
- Limited cultural events
- Not enough green space
What neighborhoods would you suggest? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The job market is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The weather is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Meadowbrook for 1 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
government is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited high-paying job options. Chain restaurants dominate. And walkability can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 5/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.
