Best apartments in Lebanon under ?

First post here. Poverty rate is 19.3%, which is higher than I expected. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Would love some local perspective. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I work in retail here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is challenging. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 7 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into running, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Seattle about 3 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for quality of life and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The dating scene is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in Sunset for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons
- The safety scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in East area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 56, moved here 7 years ago from New York. I've lived in Westside and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Nice parks and green spaces
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The public transit situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for retirees. solid vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $70K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely tough and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Midtown) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
