Grocery stores in Lecanto -recommendations?

Hey everyone, I work in construction and The unemployment rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Lecanto sits at 510.8 per 100K. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What do you all think? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 14 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Pine Hills. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in legal. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 41, moved here 13 years ago from New York. I've lived in South and Old Town, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Good airport with direct flights
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Can feel isolated
3. The walkability situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for singles. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Old Town: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $60K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Used to live on the West side, now on the Cedar Grove side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is pretty good in most areas.
