Moving from Memphis to Lecanto next month

Not sure if this has been asked before, but My family moved here when I was a kid. Rent is about $1,221/month for a decent place. Median household income is $52,996, which feels on the lower side for the area. The unemployment rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. Let me know your thoughts. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Used to live on the Fairview side, now on the Maple Ridge side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Fairview. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Westside. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in East for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights
- The dating scene scene is decent

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- The walkability scene is improving

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
