Moving to Leeds -what should I know?

Alright, Household incomes average around $71,672 in Leeds. Rent is about $945/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Thanks in advance!

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The community vibe is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to New York it's average.

I'm a electrician and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 53, moved here 13 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in North and Fairview, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Can feel isolated
3. The housing market situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for couples. improving vibes, walkable.
- Fairview: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt surprisingly good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $60K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
