Hey everyone, Rent is about $1,382/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $104,989 in Lee's Summit. Crime rate is something to consider -Lee's Summit sits at 115.7 per 100K. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Worth the trade-offs? Thanks! The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I'm a social worker and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value housing market, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely excellent and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (North) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.
