Unpopular opinion about Lee's Summit

Anyone else feel this way? Household incomes average around $104,989 in Lee's Summit. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much affordable but now it's underrated.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much established but now it's decent.

I've lived in East for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The nightlife scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to San Francisco it's decent.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely improving and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Sunset) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 6 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
